Feather Duster Worm
WildWatch Harbor, Gig Harbor Group for Environmental Education, has published a new book on the marine environment of Puget Sound.
"Puget Insightful's Wildside, A Natural History of Puget Sound Marine Ecosystem" gives an overview of the marine environment in the Strait and threats to health and survival. The regulation was drafted by Katrina Mikitik and Corey Watson, with illustrations by Ram Popery.
The book is filled with information and quick facts about the creatures that live in and around the Sound.Among the topics covered are the feather duster worms, barnacles, moon snails, seals communal and pigeon guillemots.

No, I have much to feather and they do not affect what they eat only microorganisms. They are very good for your tank, bowl or what ever you have.
It depends if they are feather dusters or not. All plumes are harmless filter feeders and use a minimal amount of calcium for their tubes. My first link gives some information (scroll down to "tube worms"). Use the second link to check if your "worms" are actually small hydroids.
