What I normally only is change i about 25% of water a week then clean the tank! I bought a Phyton and they work they are excellent. The python lets you take water and put water in the tank without having to carry a bucket.

I read that many people use R / O water for their water changes, or add chemicals as you do to make fresh water added to make it safer.

A 4 foot(i hope you meant foot and not inch) tank is way too small to keep pike.Remember babies grow into adults,and would them need at least a 300 gallon tank for 1.Adult pike grow to be about 4 feet long,so 300 gallons might not be big enough eithe
