Dusters are beautiful - I have three bright orange to red fans that are my favorites, but they are small. And many poor whites.

I also got a tiger pistol shrimp on a piece - it's pretty neat, and he likes "pop" his mark on me when I do water changes.

I had a couple of tunicates, also. They look a bit like a sponge, but will open and close if it is disturbed. And if they are near the surface of the water and you bother them, they squirt water at you.

The truth is other than a little bubble of nuisance algae and occasional Aiptaisia, there is not much live rock I do not!

Then you could develop featherdusters with a sponge or as an addition to your filtration system. Can you do if I am not very sure.

We just bought a tank as well ..

My understanding is that the rock grows algae and other bacteria that is found in water which is vital for fish and other creatures that you intend to put it.

I do not knoe the difference between the rocks, but why wouldnt you tell the seller the difference?

If you invest heavily in what I am that you are, I strongly suggest get the most premium and get just a little grade Cs only watch ..
You want your fish to last long and it takes the rock preimum to live.
You want your fish, $ 200 / seahorse / etc die because their environment sucks.

Rock Live, in addition to being decorative, a live bacteria on / in which helps reduce ammonia and nitrite in your tank. So, it acts as a living filter.

The biggest difference in the live rock is where it comes from, how it is porous, and how many agencies in May to be part (how long it has been in the ocean). Plus it is porous, the surface bacteria more living space. The cheaper stuff is called base rock (probably like your Grade C). It may be sold dry, in which case there is nothing living on it. Therefore it is cheap! The premium stuff is usually good coralline algae already growing on it, and there may be plants, clams, sponges, corals, and all sorts of other neat creatures! There is nothing wrong with the types of mixture. I bought rock base for the bottom and back layers (where it is hidden) and good things for the front & top (where it was seen). $ 10.00 seems a bit high, however. This goes for $ 7.99/lb where I'm from (dry base rock is $ 1.49/lb)

The rock itself is not alive, but you should be able to see tiny organisms(worms, copepods, etc.) that are living in the rock.
