Norwood 's 204th St. and Bainbridge Ave. shopping peel was hard hit last week by a fire that ripped through a row of 14 businesses. But as merchants and officials work to rebuild (see tied up story), the stores across the street have been pitching in to keep the shopping strip in this once primarily Irish neighborhood astir and thriving.

Nick Manias opened up machine shop on Bainbridge Ave. 25 years ago when he first moved to the Bronx from the Greek island of Kasos. He hasn't left-wing the area since. This corner coffee shop is open daily from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. and offers only breakfast and lunch. You can try lunch specials from Manias' homeland, including the gyro on pita bread for $4.95 or Nicky's rendering of a chef's salad for $6.75. Nicky's has more than 10 types of burgers on the menu, all under $10. Breakfast items incorporate pancakes served with bacon, sausage or ham for $4.85 or Nick's omelet with potatoes, tomatoes and onions for $4.65.

I currently assert a minor, sideline aquarium living task. After I began this benefit, it anon became unmistakable that while my customers wanted fishes as colorful as those on a coral reef, they did not prerequisite to pay for naval tank filtration systems. Additionally, they wanted "mignonne plants," and great deal of fish to go along with them. Purists may take it the only way to keep hole lake cichlids is by using rocks as bedclothes....
